What fire rating does Blue60™ offer?

Blue60™ has been fire tested to 30 & 60 minutes (BS476 Pt20/22: 1987 & BS EN1634-1) in timber doorsets

Why is Blue60™ blue?

Our foam is coloured blue to make it easily identifiable and to differentiate from other fire foams on the market

What is the minimum and maximum gaps Blue60™ can be used?

The minimum practical / tested width is 3mm and maximum tested gap is 39mm

Do you have to install Blue60™ with specialist packers or fixings?

Blue60™ has been tested as a system with Blue60 fire rated packer and with timber packers and standard screw fixings

Do I need to cap off Blue60™ with intumescent mastic?

There is no need to cap with mastic for fire ratings of up to 60 minutes

Can I add architraves over Blue60™?

Architraves are optional, Blue60™ Foam has been tested with and without

Does Blue60™ foam have a shelf life?

Unlike other Fire Foams Blue60™ has a 24-month shelf life whilst stored in temperate conditions (5°C > 30°C). Blue60™ has also been tested when applied 24 months after manufacture with the same perfect results

How many doors can I seal per can?

A 750ml can will seal 3-4 standard single doors with a max 10mm x 70mm gap or 2-3 with a 10mm x 100mm gap

Does Blue60™ have an acoustic rating?

Yes, Blue60™ sound reduction capabilities of up to 45 dB Rw

Can I use Blue60™ when door sets are required to have smoke control?

Blue60™ has smoke leakage evidence to BS EN 1634-3: 2004

What fire rating does Blue60™ offer?

It saves time and money against traditional methods like mineral wool & mastic and most importantly is the most widely tested system on the market for fire stopping around a fire door frame

Is Blue60™ approved for use by the NHBC and similar bodies?

Yes

My customer is insisting that I cap the Blue60 with a mastic what can I use?

Blue60™ has been tested with Orange240™ mastic being used to over gap the  Blue60™, cutting back the  Blue60™ 10mm deep and filling the gap with Orange240™

The structural opening is running out, only leaving a 2mm gap at the bottom of the frame. How do I work with this?

Use  Blue60™ in the normal way, down to the point where the gap goes below 3mm and it becomes impossible to get a foam nozzle into the gap and guarantee the gap is fully filled, then fully fill the remaining gap with Orange240™. This method has been fully tested
